About Me

After more than twenty-six years in corporate America, an opportunity to retire early was presented. Considering my age there was considerable nervousness about leaving a job that provided a steady paycheck and that’s when I started adding this offer to my prayers, requesting guidance on the decision. I had an awful Friday, I mean worst one in years   but figured I’d shake it off over the weekend. Only to come back on Monday and have a horrible day.

Tuesday on the drive into the office I was praying and asking for guidance, thinking the day had to be better than the one before. I reached my office, a friend came in and we were chatting about what was on the docket. I pulled up the page with the offer and selected the “Volunteer” button. What a sense of peace I had after that. I mean it was immediate. I knew that I had made the right decision.

Family is everything to me and I value ours. I am married to a wonderful, steady man who has been my cheerleader and supporter for thirty-four years. We have three adult children who have their own successful careers. One could say that my writing is a family affair as it isn’t just my husband and children cheering in the background. I’ve got the extended family doing cartwheels and jumps behind the scenes as well. Including my Mother, my siblings, their spouses, and my nieces. Life is always better with family!

Oh and there’s my best friend forever, Jean. Her life has been an adventure and as her friend, I’ve gotten to hear the stories of some of her adventures. There are little pieces of her in some of my characters in the stories I write because who doesn’t want to read about someone who loves life?!  She is another cheerleader of this journey and continues to prop up her friend as needed, when needed.

Thanks for checking me out and I hope stay for the journey!
